Bhagwant Mann Arrests 75 Alleged Drug Smugglers in Latest Anti-Narcotics Drive

Bhagwant Mann continued its anti-drug campaign under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” initiative, carrying out operations across the state against alleged drug trafficking networks.

According to official information, police teams arrested 75 alleged drug smugglers during the latest phase of the campaign. The operations also resulted in the recovery of approximately 337 grams of heroin, 378 intoxicant pills, and ₹10,120 suspected to be linked to drug-related activities.

Officials stated that the action was part of a sustained effort to identify and dismantle narcotics supply chains operating in different parts of Punjab. Intelligence-based raids and search operations were conducted at multiple locations as part of the enforcement drive.

Police officials emphasized that the fight against substance abuse

In addition to legal action against alleged traffickers, Punjab Police continued its rehabilitation-focused initiatives. Authorities said that 24 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, reflecting the campaign’s dual focus on enforcement and recovery.

Police officials emphasized that the fight against substance abuse requires both strict action against drug networks and support for individuals seeking to overcome addiction. Awareness programmes and community participation are also being promoted as part of the broader strategy.

The “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign remains a key component of Punjab’s efforts to combat drug-related crimes, reduce substance abuse, and strengthen public safety. Officials reiterated that operations against narcotics networks will continue across the state.

Punjab Police has also appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking and other illegal activities, while assuring confidentiality to those providing information.
