The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab received a political boost in the Majitha constituency after several former Congress leaders joined the party in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to the party, senior local political figures including Paramjit Singh Pamma Majitha, Palwinder Singh Pali Majithia, Jagdeep Singh Goga Majithia, Apramdeep Singh Appu Majithia, and Amandeep Singh formally joined AAP during an event held under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

The induction programme was conducted in the presence of senior AAP leader Talbir Singh Gill from the Majitha constituency. Party leaders welcomed the new entrants and expressed confidence that their inclusion would strengthen the organization at the grassroots level ahead of future political activities in the region.

AAP described the development as a major setback for the Congress party

AAP described the development as a major setback for the Congress party in the area, highlighting what it called increasing public support for the ruling party in Punjab. Leaders of the party claimed that the joining of experienced political workers and former Congress members reflects growing confidence in the policies and governance model of the state government.

The latest political shift comes at a time when parties in Punjab are actively working to expand their organizational networks and consolidate support in key constituencies. Political observers believe that defections and new alliances could influence local political dynamics in several parts of the state in the coming months.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been focusing on strengthening its presence across Punjab through public outreach campaigns and organizational restructuring since forming the government in the state.
