In a post on X, Cheema said that respecting women and strengthening their economic position remain priorities for the Mann government. He noted that the proposed financial assistance would help women manage everyday expenses and contribute to the financial stability of their families.

Cheema stated that the initiative would encourage a stronger sense of independence among women by providing them with financial support. According to his post, the assistance is expected to be particularly helpful for families facing difficulties in meeting their regular household needs.

The Finance Minister also said that women had expressed gratitude to the Mann government for the initiative. The scheme, as described in his statement, aims to provide women with greater financial support and help them play a more active role in household financial decisions.

Financial assistance programmes targeting women can help recipients manage essential expenses, including groceries, healthcare and other household requirements. Regular financial support can also give women greater flexibility in deciding how to allocate money according to their families’ needs.

Cheema’s remarks reflect the Punjab government’s emphasis on women’s welfare and economic empowerment. The initiative has been presented by the minister as a measure intended to provide relief to families while strengthening women’s financial independence.

However, his social media post did not specify the eligibility criteria, implementation timeline or payment schedule for the ₹3,000–₹4,500 assistance. Further official details would be needed to establish how the scheme will be implemented and which beneficiaries will qualify.
