Lots of rewards for brave officers
As part of the new prize system, any police officer who finds and reports 1 kg of heroin will get ₹1.20 lakh. This strong and direct incentive is meant to get police to move quickly and effectively against drug dealers while also making intelligence-led policing stronger to break up organized crime networks.
Officials said that the award policy will not only serve as a way to motivate police, but also as a way to show appreciation for the risks and difficulties they face while fighting drugs. The state government thinks that police officers will be more motivated to protect the neighbourhood when they feel like they are valued.
1,600 promotions to make people feel better
Along with the cash awards, the Mann government has also agreed to promote 1,600 police officers across Punjab. These promotions are a reward for the officers’ hard work, dedication, and care in keeping communities safe and fighting crime.
