In a major offensive against narco-terrorism and illegal arms smuggling, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government has achieved another breakthrough. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Punjab Police apprehended three key drug traffickers near Shankar Dhaba on Attari Road, Amritsar.

Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the ANTF team arrested Maninderjit Singh, Peter, and Lovejit Singh alias Raja, seizing a significant consignment of narcotics and firearms.

Seizures Made:

4 PX5 Storm pistols

521 grams of heroin

7 magazines

55 live cartridges

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and Arms Act at PS ANTF, SAS Nagar.

According to the statement issued by DGP Punjab, the ANTF is actively pursuing both forward and backward linkages to trace the origins and end-users of the smuggled contraband. This effort is part of a larger drive to dismantle organized crime networks operating in and around Punjab’s sensitive border areas.

The Bhagwant Mann government has consistently maintained a zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking and illegal weapons, underlining its commitment to a #NashaMuktPunjab. With repeated high-level operations, the administration is striving to make the state safer and more secure for its citizens.

This operation reinforces the state government's pledge to not only curb drug abuse but also eliminate the criminal infrastructure that sustains it.

This latest crackdown is part of a broader strategy by Punjab Police to curb cross-border narcotics and arms inflow, especially in border regions like Amritsar.
