During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to transform agriculture into a sustainable and profitable enterprise for farmers. He highlighted Punjab’s readiness to collaborate with South Korea by adopting modern technology, innovation-driven practices, and scientific solutions that can address challenges such as rising input costs, climate change, and declining farm incomes.

Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab, known as the food bowl of India, is now looking beyond traditional farming methods and actively exploring global partnerships to modernize its agricultural ecosystem. He noted that South Korea’s expertise in smart agriculture, precision farming, and agri-biotechnology can play a crucial role in this transformation.

South Korean delegation appreciated Punjab’s rich cultural heritage

The South Korean delegation appreciated Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, skilled workforce, and investor-friendly environment. Members of the delegation also acknowledged the state government’s efforts to create a transparent, progressive, and business-conducive atmosphere, especially in sectors linked to agri-tech and innovation.

The Chief Minister stressed that enhanced cooperation between Punjab and South Korea could open new avenues in agri-machinery manufacturing, research collaboration, technology transfer, and capacity building for farmers. He added that such partnerships would not only boost agricultural output but also generate employment opportunities in rural areas.

As part of efforts to deepen economic engagement, Bhagwant Mann extended a warm invitation to the Korean delegation to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in Mohali from 13 to 15 March 2026. He said the summit would provide a robust platform for global investors to explore opportunities across agriculture, food processing, biotechnology, and allied industries in Punjab.

The meeting reflects Punjab’s broader strategy to position itself as a hub for sustainable agriculture and agri-based investments through international cooperation, innovation, and farmer-centric policies.
