Shaheed Diwas, also known as Martyrs’ Day, is observed in India to honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation. One of the most significant observances falls on 23 March, marking the execution of Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar by the British in 1931 for their role in revolutionary activities against colonial rule.

Another Shaheed Diwas is observed on 30 January in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated in 1948. The day is marked by paying tributes at memorials, observing silence, and organizing patriotic events in schools and public institutions. It serves as a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of martyrs, inspiring citizens to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and national integrity.
