Arrests 307 in Statewide Gangster Crackdown
With the latest action, the total number of arrests made since the launch of the campaign has reached 69,442, according to Punjab Police.
The latest statewide operation was aimed at disrupting the activities of organised criminal networks and apprehending individuals linked to gangster groups. Police teams carried out coordinated searches at locations identified through intelligence and investigation.
The arrest of proclaimed offenders was another key component of the operation, as authorities continue efforts to trace individuals who have been evading arrest in criminal cases.
Punjab Police said the recovery of seven weapons during the raids further strengthens its efforts to prevent criminal networks from accessing illegal arms and using them to carry out violent activities.
The police department said dismantling gangster networks remains a priority and that coordinated operations with the AGTF will continue across the state to identify and take action against individuals involved in organised crime.
Authorities have also appealed to citizens to share information about gangster-related activities. Punjab Police has provided the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946, through which people can share information anonymously.
