Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Police Continues Crackdown Under Anti-Drug Campaign

The Punjab Police has intensified its ongoing anti-drug अभियान ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, marking Day 381 with fresh कार्रवाई across the state. The campaign continues under the broader efforts of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to curb drug trafficking in Punjab.

According to official information shared by Punjab Police, a total of 69 drug smugglers were arrested during multiple raids conducted at various locations. The पुलिस also recovered significant quantities of narcotics, including 547 grams of heroin, 550 grams of opium, and 918 kg of poppy husk. Additionally, 544 intoxicant tablets and capsules along with ₹1,300 drug money were seized.

Officials stated that the अभियान is not limited to enforcement alone. Alongside strict कार्रवाई against smugglers, efforts are also being made to rehabilitate drug users. As part of this approach, 58 individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting a balanced strategy of enforcement and recovery.

The data further revealed that since the launch of the campaign, a total of 53,965 drug smugglers have been arrested in 381 days. This reflects the scale and consistency of the crackdown being carried out across the state.
