Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Delivers on Promise: 1.59 Lakh Beneficiaries Treated Free with Sehat Card Scheme

When CM Bhagwant Mann promised free healthcare for every family in Punjab, many were sceptical. Today, the numbers tell a different story. The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has already supported over 1.59 lakh beneficiaries and is being seen as a lifeline for ordinary households who once feared falling ill more than anything else.

The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana of the Bhagwant Mann Government provides cashless health cover of up to ₹10 lakh per family per year to all the bona fide residents of Punjab, including middle-class families, government employees and pensioners.

The scheme offers free cashless treatment to all family members irrespective of their income at all government and empanelled private hospitals in the state. Simply take your Sehat Card to the hospital — no bill, no loan, no panic.

1.59 lakh treated, ₹522 crore spent, 3.11 lakh procedures done

Bhagwant Mann: The scope of impact is already staggering. Under the scheme, more than 3.11 lakh procedures on over 1.59 lakh beneficiaries have been performed, as on 16 May. Total support provided has crossed Rs 522 crore.

The scheme is in accordance with the revised HBP 2.2 framework and covers nearly 2,300 health benefit packages in 839 hospitals, including government hospitals and empanelled private healthcare facilities. Additionally, 98 specialised treatment packages have been reserved only for government hospitals.

Treatment Not Denied To Anyone – From Heart Operations To Neonatal Care

Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said the aim was to ensure that no one was denied care because they could not afford it, whether it was for complex surgeries, heart procedures, dialysis, neonatal care or critical illness treatments.

Expensive private hospitals, which were once available only to the rich, are now available to every family with a Sehat Card, for the first time.
