Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday inaugurated the upgraded Jathedar Kartar Singh Darvesh Senior Secondary School in Sangrur, developed at a cost of ₹3.40 crore under the School of Eminence initiative.

Equipped with modern facilities, the school aims to play a key role in providing quality education to students in the region. The upgraded infrastructure includes smart classrooms, science and computer labs, a well-stocked library, improved sports facilities, and upgraded sanitation blocks, all aimed at creating an environment conducive to holistic learning.
The Chief Minister said similar Schools of Eminence are being established across Punjab to ensure students have access to world-class education without having to leave their home districts. “Our vision is to prepare the youth of Punjab to compete globally while staying rooted in their culture and values,” Mann said.
Education department officials noted that these institutions are designed to focus on career guidance, skill development, and exposure to modern teaching methods. The aim is to prepare students for competitive exams, higher education, and emerging job markets.
