Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a high-level meeting in Chandigarh with a delegation from the Tata Group to review progress and future plans related to the upcoming steel plant project in Ludhiana. The discussion focused on investment prospects, infrastructure requirements, employment generation, and the broader industrial ecosystem needed to support large-scale manufacturing initiatives in the state.

According to official information, both sides engaged in detailed deliberations on timelines, logistics, and policy facilitation required for the proposed plant. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also extended a formal invitation to the Tata Group to participate in the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in Mohali. The summit is expected to bring together leading industrial houses, global investors, and policymakers to explore new investment avenues and partnerships in key sectors such as manufacturing, technology, logistics, and renewable energy.
Mann emphasized that Punjab is positioning itself as a competitive industrial destination by focusing on ease of doing business, skilled workforce development, and modern infrastructure. He added that collaboration with major corporate groups would play a crucial role in accelerating economic growth and strengthening the state’s industrial base.
