Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Mukhyamantri Tirath Yatra Yojana continues to make waves, offering fully sponsored pilgrimage trips for senior citizens and economically vulnerable residents. The initiative covers travel, food, and lodging, allowing pilgrims to visit revered sites such as Amritsar’s Harmandir Sahib, Vaishno Devi, Haridwar, and Varanasi without financial burden.

Launched in late 2023, the scheme reflects the state government’s effort to make spiritual journeys accessible to all, particularly those who might otherwise be unable to afford such trips.

Kotkapura Marks the Third Flag-Off

Bhagwant Mann: The program reached Kotkapura as the third bus under the scheme was flagged off by Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Local residents expressed enthusiasm as this milestone enables wider participation from the district, ensuring seniors and economically vulnerable individuals can experience the spiritual benefits of the yatra.

Pilgrims boarding the buses are provided with comfortable travel arrangements and meals throughout the journey, highlighting the scheme’s commitment to safety and convenience.

Ongoing Expansion Across Punjab

Since its inception, the Tirath Yatra Yojana has expanded steadily. Early phases saw buses flagged off personally by CM Mann from Dhuri and other key locations. Over the 2025–2026 phases, the initiative now extends to multiple districts, broadening its reach and enabling more residents to participate in spiritually enriching journeys.

Officials note that each new route is designed to maximise accessibility, ensuring that even residents in smaller towns can benefit from the scheme without logistical hurdles.

Bringing Communities Together

With the latest flag-off in Kotkapura, the scheme reinforces its goal of inclusive spiritual travel. By covering all major expenses, the Yojana not only fosters religious participation but also strengthens community ties and offers seniors and vulnerable citizens a memorable, worry-free experience.

The expansion of this initiative highlights Punjab’s focus on combining welfare with cultural and spiritual enrichment, ensuring that more citizens can embark on meaningful pilgrimages.
