Bhagwant Mann stepped up its ongoing anti-drug campaign under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, marking Day 400 with fresh investigations across the state. The latest crackdown led to the arrest of 120 drug smugglers from multiple locations.
Officials said the operations were carried out in a coordinated manner with targeted raids. The campaign continues to focus on dismantling drug networks at various levels.
Bhagwant Mann: Heroin, tablets and cash seized
During the operations, police recovered 1.6 kg of heroin and 164 intoxicant tablets and capsules. Additionally, ₹8,890 suspected to be drug money was seized from the accused.
Authorities stated that these recoveries indicate continued efforts to curb the supply and circulation of narcotics. Investigations are underway to trace further links.
Total arrests cross 57,000 mark
With the latest investigated that total number of drug smugglers arrested in 400 days has reached 57,169. The figures reflect the масштаб of the anti-drug drive being conducted across Punjab.
Officials emphasized that sustained enforcement and intelligence-based operations are helping in tightening the grip on drug trafficking networks.
Focus on rehabilitation alongside enforcement
Along with strict action, Punjab Police is also promoting rehabilitation efforts. On Day 400, 27 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and treatment programmes.
Authorities highlighted that addressing drug abuse requires both enforcement and social intervention. Efforts are being made to encourage addicts to seek help.
Government’s continued push against drugs
The anti-drug campaign remains a priority under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The government has been focusing on eliminating drugs while supporting affected individuals.
Officials reiterated that the campaign will continue with the same intensity. The aim is to create a drug-free and safer environment for the people of Punjab.
