Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh expressed deep concern over the health condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, urging immediate steps to safeguard his health. “The Punjab government is worried about his condition. I appeal to the Prime Minister and Union Agriculture Minister to initiate talks with the farmers,” he said.

Farmer Leader’s Health Under Close Monitoring

Dallewal, who has been a pivotal figure in the farmer protests, is reportedly unwell due to continuous fasting and strenuous efforts to push the farmers' demands. Medical teams are closely monitoring his health, while supporters remain hopeful for his recovery.

Call for Constructive Engagement

Minister Balbir Singh emphasized the importance of dialogue between the central government and farmers to resolve their issues amicably. He highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to supporting farmers while respecting their rights to peaceful protest.

Farmers’ Contribution to the Nation

Acknowledging the significant role farmers play in the nation’s economy, the minister reiterated the need for collective efforts to address their concerns. “Farmers are the backbone of our nation. Ensuring their health and addressing their grievances should be a priority for all,” Singh added.

The appeal for talks reflects the government’s intent to maintain peace and find a mutually beneficial resolution to the ongoing protests.

Dallewal, a prominent voice in the ongoing farmer protests, has reportedly been in declining health due to prolonged hunger strikes and continued demonstrations. The Punjab government has been closely monitoring the situation, and Singh's appeal underscores the urgency of resolving the stalemate between the farmers and the central government.

The minister's statement highlights the critical need for constructive talks to address the grievances of the farming community and ensure their well-being.
