Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Dies At 95

Former Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal has passed away. Prakash Singh Badal was hospitalized for several days. Badal was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Parkash Singh Badal was also kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital on Monday, where doctors were closely monitoring his health. The senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali a week ago after he complained of breathing problems.

In a medical bulletin released on Monday evening, the private hospital had said, “Prakash Singh Badal is still under close observation of doctors in the ICU.” He had also said that if there was a gradual improvement in the health of the senior SAD leader for the next few days, he could be sent to a private ward.

Prakash Singh Badal had corona last year

Last week, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inquired about Badal’s health and wished him a speedy recovery. Badal, a five-time chief minister of Punjab, was also admitted to the hospital in June last year due to gastritis and difficulty in breathing. He was taken to a private hospital in Mohali in February 2022 for a post-Covid health check-up. Badal was infected with the corona virus in January last year and was admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana.
