Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a new Block Samiti building at Chhajli village in the Dirba Assembly constituency.

According to the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit, the new building will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹2 crore and will be equipped with various facilities to provide a better working environment and improve administrative services in the area.
The foundation stone ceremony marked the beginning of the construction project, which is aimed at strengthening local administrative infrastructure in the Dirba constituency.

The proposed Block Samiti building is expected to provide dedicated facilities for local administrative and development-related activities. The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve public infrastructure and strengthen facilities at the grassroots level.
AAP Punjab said that the local Nagar Panchayats expressed their appreciation to the Mann government for undertaking the project and welcomed the planned development in the area.
The new facility is expected to benefit local representatives and residents by providing improved infrastructure for administrative work and coordination related to development activities.
The project also highlights the state government’s focus on upgrading public infrastructure beyond major urban centres and improving facilities available at the local level.
With the foundation stone now laid, construction of the ₹2-crore facility is set to move forward, according to the party’s statement.
