Following the state-wide momentum, the issuance of Chief Minister Health Cards is progressing at a fast pace in Mohali, reflecting the Punjab government’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare. The initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, aims to ensure affordable and accessible medical treatment for every citizen of the state.
Mohali Sees Rapid Rollout of Chief Minister Health Cards Under Bhagwant Mann Government
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh shared these updates after a high-level review meeting, highlighting the efficiency and scale at which registrations are being processed. He stated that the government has deployed specially trained representatives to handle registrations swiftly, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
One of the key highlights of the programme is its implementation at AIIMS Mohali, where eligible individuals are being issued health cards on the spot. This has enabled patients to immediately avail treatment benefits without delays, marking a significant improvement in service delivery and ease of access to healthcare.
Under this flagship health scheme, beneficiaries are entitled to free medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh, a move that has substantially boosted public confidence in the Mann government’s healthcare reforms. The scheme is particularly beneficial for economically weaker sections, reducing their financial burden during medical emergencies.
AAP government’s governance model
Officials noted that the rapid rollout in Mohali mirrors similar progress across Punjab, showcasing the AAP government’s governance model, which prioritizes technology-driven solutions, transparency, and citizen welfare. The use of streamlined systems and trained manpower has ensured timely execution of the programme.
The Punjab government reiterated that healthcare remains a top priority, and efforts will continue to expand coverage and improve infrastructure so that quality medical facilities reach every corner of the state.
