The meeting between Punjab Chief Minister (CM) and the farmers has concluded, spanning a duration of approximately two and a half hours. Various pressing issues were discussed during this session, where the farmers, represented by the Kisan Sangharsh Mazdoor Committee, presented their concerns. The Chief Minister took note of these issues and provided assurances that their demands would be addressed promptly.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, the Chief Secretary of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh, highlighted a range of concerns, including employment opportunities for families of martyrs, the shutdown of a cumin factory, crop damage, and the impact of floods. In response, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann pledged to halt the operations of the cumin factory and announced compensation of 15,000 per acre for crop damage.

Notably, there were discrepancies in compensation for Punjab's martyrs compared to those in Telangana, which Chief Minister Mann acknowledged. He assured the farmers that he would work towards rectifying this disparity in compensation. The Chief Minister conveyed that certain constraints imposed by the central government were impeding progress, yet he expressed willingness to allocate 20,000 in compensation if the central government extends support.
In essence, the meeting served as a platform for the farmers to voice their concerns and grievances to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister, in response, exhibited a commitment to addressing these concerns by assuring the farmers that their demands would be met, despite challenges posed by central government regulations.
