Green Energy Initiatives
The state has taken a giant leap toward sustainability with agreements for 1,454 MW of solar energy and 900 MW of hybrid power at competitive rates. These initiatives solidify Punjab’s commitment to green energy and reducing its carbon footprint.
Support for Citizens and Infrastructure Growth
Punjab continues to prioritize its citizens, with 600 units of free electricity bi-monthly benefiting 90% of domestic consumers. On the human resources front, 1,351 recruitments were made in 2024, contributing to a total of 6,498 new hires since 2022.
Additionally, ₹9,563 crore has been sanctioned for significant upgrades to the state’s power distribution network, ensuring a more reliable and efficient system.
With these transformative measures, Punjab is not just meeting energy demands but leading the way in building a sustainable and citizen-centric power ecosystem.
