Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday felicitated the Punjabi players of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team and the coaching staff at the newly constructed Mullanpur stadium. The event was organized to celebrate India’s historic ICC Women’s World Cup victory, which marked a proud moment for the nation and the state.
During the ceremony, CM Mann honoured team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, along with players Amanjot Kaur and Harleen Kaur Deol, who hail from Punjab. Each player received a cash reward of ₹11 lakh, while the coaching staff was awarded ₹5 lakh in recognition of their contribution to India’s title win.

The programme also featured the inauguration of two special stands named after cricket icons Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur. The gesture aims to inspire young athletes across Punjab and celebrate the state’s legacy of producing top-tier cricketing talent.
