Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Lauds Amritsar Police for Busting Cross-Border Heroin Smuggling Module
According to preliminary investigation, the arrested individuals were acting on the instructions of Pakistan-based smuggler Rana King, who orchestrated consignments from across the border. The drugs were then redistributed to Indian associates for circulation.
Officials also pointed out that the arrested operatives were believed to have connections with local distributors, which indicates a wider domestic supply chain. By tracing these forward linkages, authorities aim to identify and eliminate the peddlers and financiers involved at multiple levels of the racket.
The government has appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Bhagwant Mann reiterated that community cooperation, along with strong enforcement, is key to defeating the drug menace and ensuring a safer, healthier future for Punjab’s youth.
