Punjab Police have achieved another breakthrough in the fight against organised crime. In a decisive operation, the Kapurthala Police arrested an active member of the Jagga Fukiwal extortion gang, Amandeep alias Aman, a resident of Tashpur, Kapurthala. Officers recovered four country-made pistols from his possession, marking a major blow to the gang’s ongoing firing and extortion activities.

According to the DGP Punjab, Amandeep was a crucial supplier of illegal weapons to several local gangs. With this arrest, the total recovery has reached nine country-made pistols.
During the investigation, Amandeep disclosed that he had supplied two pistols to his associate, Lovepreet alias Baba, who has also been arrested.
From Lovepreet’s possession, police recovered:
- One .32 bore country-made pistol
- One .315 bore country-made pistol
- Two live rounds
Further interrogation of Amandeep led to the discovery of three additional country-made pistols buried at his residence.
An FIR has been registered at PS Sadar, Kapurthala. Police teams are now tracing backward and forward linkages to dismantle the entire illegal arms network.
Punjab Police reaffirmed that they remain committed to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s vision of a crime-free Punjab and continue to take strict action against organised crime and illegal weapon suppliers across the state.
