Punjab CM Pays Surprise Visit At Site Of Air Terminal At Halwara

To promote industrial and economic activities in Punjab, the work of setting up a new International Civil Air Terminal at Indian Air Force Station Halwara, Ludhiana is in full swing. AAI will have 51 percent stake in this project and Greater Ludhiana Development Authority (GLADA) will have 49 percent stake in the Punjab government. The project is expected to be completed in about six months. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has inspected the ongoing work at Civil Air Terminal Halwara and asked the officials to expedite the work so that the project can be completed at the earliest.

Passengers will save time and money

While inspecting the works, the Chief Minister instructed the officers that the work should be completed in a time-bound manner. He said that the state government has already released Rs 50 crore for early completion of the civil air terminal. Emphasizing on this project, Bhagwant Mann said that this project will put Punjab on the map of air connectivity and save time, money and energy of the passengers.

CM Mann will review daily

The Chief Minister said that it was the need of the hour to complete this project to boost the economic development of the state. Bhagwant Mann expressed regret that the work on this project was hanging for the last few months. Mann said that the project was to be completed by March 31, 2022, but due to the apathy of the previous governments, it has crossed its deadline.

The Chief Minister said that after assuming office, his government has accelerated the work on this project. He asked the executing agency to complete the work in the next six months and said that no compromise in the quality of work would be tolerated. Bhagwant Mann said that he would personally monitor the progress of this work on a daily basis and any unnecessary delay would not be tolerated.
