In a major labour sector reform, the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Labour Minister Tarunpreet Sond has fully digitized all labour services and industrial schemes, ensuring seamless access and improved efficiency for workers and businesses.

With the launch of online services at pblabour.gov.in, factory owners, industrialists, and workers can now avail of crucial services such as factory registration, licensing, and night shift permissions digitally. The initiative aims to eliminate bureaucratic delays and enhance transparency in labour-related processes.

Key Reforms Introduced in the Labour Department

✔ Complete Digitalization: Factory registration, licenses, night shift permissions, and other labour-related approvals can now be obtained online.

✔ Shagun Scheme Simplified: Applicants no longer require a registered marriage certificate to avail of benefits; religious photos will now be accepted as proof.

✔ Stipend Scheme Relaxed: The previous two-year service condition for eligibility has been removed. Workers can now receive stipend benefits from Day 1.

A Pro-Worker & Industry-Friendly Initiative

The Punjab government’s labour sector overhaul is designed to empower workers and facilitate ease of doing business for industries. By removing red tape and unnecessary paperwork, the AAP government is making worker benefits and industrial schemes more accessible.

Labour Minister Tarunpreet Sond emphasized that these bold reforms reflect the government’s commitment to supporting labourers, factory workers, and industries. The initiative also aligns with the state’s push towards digital governance, ensuring a hassle-free experience for businesses and individuals alike.

With the shift to digital platforms and worker-friendly policies, Punjab is set to lead labour sector reforms in India, making government services more transparent, accessible, and efficient.
