In a state-level rally held in Dhanansu village, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal introduced the ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar’ scheme. This initiative, unveiled on Sunday, aims to provide 43 citizen-centric services directly to people’s doorsteps.

The scheme focuses on a hassle-free government-to-citizen (G2C) service delivery model, offering a doorstep delivery system for critical services. Among the 43 services covered are certificates for birth, death, income, residence, caste, pensions, and electricity bill payments. Residents can avail themselves of these services by contacting a dedicated helpline number, 1076, and scheduling an appointment at their convenience.

Applicants will be informed about required documents, applicable fees, and other details via SMS, along with the date and time of the scheduled appointment. Specially-trained personnel equipped with tablets will visit homes or offices at the appointed time, complete necessary paperwork, collect fees, and provide an acknowledgment receipt for application tracking.

This innovative scheme is designed not only to enhance convenience but also to eliminate the involvement of middlemen, promoting transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric governance.

Residents in Punjab can access the services through sewa kendras and the helpline number 1076 starting from December 10. The launch also saw the introduction of ‘mobile sahayaks’ to assist people in benefiting from this new initiative.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed that the state has adopted the Delhi model, conceived by Arvind Kejriwal, to usher in a new era of responsive and transparent governance. He emphasized that the scheme will put an end to the inconvenience and humiliation faced by the common man in government offices, providing a significant leap towards citizen-friendly governance.
