Punjab News: As Punjab gears up for the much-delayed elections to 46 urban local bodies and 13,241 panchayats, the state government has made significant administrative changes. On Sunday, nine IAS officers were transferred, including key appointments in the local government and rural development departments.
Tejveer Singh has been appointed as the additional chief secretary of the local government department, replacing Ajoy Sharma. Singh will also continue to head the industries and commerce, and information technology departments.
Meanwhile, Dilraj Singh has been named the administrative secretary of the rural development and panchayats department, taking over from Alok Shekhar. Dilraj Singh will also retain his roles as the administrative secretary of transport and parliamentary affairs.
