Punjab Police Busts Gangster, Uncovers High-Tech Weapons & Cross-Border Nexus; Probe On

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police is actively cracking down on criminal networks. In a major breakthrough, the police arrested a notorious gangster from Firozpur, unearthing a deep-rooted cross-border nexus. The arrest was made following a well-planned operation based on secret intelligence inputs.

Gangster Arrested in Punjab Police’s Well-Coordinated Operation

The Punjab Police, with the help of its Counter Intelligence team, successfully nabbed a drug smuggler-turned-gangster, Hardeep Singh, also known as Deepa. He was arrested from Ghall Khurd village in Firozpur. The operation led to the recovery of a high-tech weapons arsenal and a quantity of illegal drugs.

Weapons and Drugs Seized in the Crackdown

Sharing details of the operation, Punjab DGP took to social media, revealing the significant recovery made by the police. The items seized include:

• Three sophisticated pistols: a Glock, a Beretta .30 MM, and a pump-action gun.
• 141 assorted cartridges, including 9MM, .30 caliber, and 12 bore.
• 45 grams of heroin.
• A Swift car suspected to be used for criminal activities.

Cross-Border Nexus Behind the Smuggling Racket

Preliminary investigations suggest that the weapons were smuggled from across the border, potentially for terror-related and criminal activities in Punjab. The state’s special operation cell in Fazilka has registered an FIR, and further probes are underway to expose the entire network involved.
