In a significant counter-espionage breakthrough, Punjab Police arrested two individuals—Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih—from Amritsar on May 3, 2025, for their alleged involvement in leaking sensitive information related to Army Cantonment areas and Air Bases in Amritsar to Pakistani intelligence operatives.

According to a tweet from Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the arrests were made by the Amritsar Rural Police following a detailed probe. The investigation has so far uncovered their links to Harpreet Singh alias Pittu alias Happy, a man currently lodged in Amritsar Central Jail, who is believed to be the conduit between the accused and foreign handlers.
