In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in collaboration with Moga Police, arrested notorious gangster Malkit Singh alias Manu after a brief exchange of fire near Dosanjh Road in Moga City. Malkit Singh, son of Jagsir Singh and a resident of Dosanjh Talwandi, Moga, was a key operative of the foreign-based gangster Gaurav alias Lucky Patyal and the Davinder Bambiha Gang.
Gunfight Leads to Arrest
The joint operation resulted in a brief shootout, during which Malkit Singh sustained a bullet injury on his left knee in retaliatory firing by the AGTF team. He was immediately taken into custody and provided medical treatment. His arrest marks a crucial step in Punjab Police’s ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime networks operating in the region.
Malkit Singh was wanted in multiple criminal cases, including his involvement in a murder at village Kapura, Moga on February 19, 2025, and another firing incident at Raja Dhaba, Jagraon on February 26, 2025. He has a history of criminal activities and was actively associated with the Davinder Bambiha Gang.
Arms and Ammunition Seized
During the operation, police recovered a .32 caliber pistol along with four live cartridges from the accused. The seizure of weapons indicates the ongoing efforts of the gangster network to spread violence in the region.
Punjab Police's Firm Stand Against Crime
The Punjab Police, through its specialized AGTF unit, remains committed to eradicating gangster activities and ensuring public safety. A spokesperson for Punjab Police reiterated that the force will continue taking strong action against criminal elements to maintain law and order in the state.
Further investigations are underway to identify more associates linked to the gang and their criminal operations. Authorities are also looking into Malkit Singh’s connections with foreign-based gangsters and possible involvement in other cases.
