Punjab Police: One more attempt by terrorists is failed as Punjab police confirms that it were able to recover grenades, explosive devices and and one wireless communication from the forest.

According to Punjab Police, it successfully foiled a terror bid. The Police recovered a cache of terrorist hardware, including grenades and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from a forested area in Punjab.

DGP Punjab Police shared a message through X regarding the success of recovered materials.

 

DGP Punjab Police confirms that in a major breakthrough against ISI backed cross-border attack; SSOC Amritsar in joint operation with central agency recovered a cache of terrorist hardware in the forest area near Tibba Nangal-Kular Road, SBS Nagar. It is also said that Punjab Police are always committed to safeguard national security and dismantling terror infrastructure in the Punjab state.

What was recovered in the Operation?

In the joint operation of Punjab police with central agency the recovered materials were two rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), five P-86 hand grenades and one wireless communication

What were the motives of terrorists?

Preliminary probe is indicating a coordinated operation by the ISI and allied terror outfits to revive sleeper cells in Punjab as per the state's Director General of Police. The attempt was in the wake of escalating India-Pakistan tensions after the Pahalgam attack. Cross-border tensions rose after the terror attack in Pahalgam on 22nd April 2025.

What Steps Are Being Used By India To Stop Such Attempts By Terrorists?

PM Modi already has confirmed India’s commitment to firm and decisive action against terrorists and their supporters. Government is also providing the security forces a free hand to dismantle their operations. The houses of more than ten terrorists were destroyed in Kashmir. Diplomats were dismissed, the air space was closed for Pakistan-owned and operated planes.

Due to joint operation with central agency, Punjab Police were able recovered the cache of terrorist hardware including grenades and other materials in the forest area near Tibba Nangal-Kular Road, SBS Nagar of Punjab state.
