Punjab Vigilance Bureau Summons Minister And Bureaucrats In Irrigation Scam

In the multi-crore irrigation scam the vigilance bureau of Punjab has once again summoned ex irrigation ministers Sharanjit Singh Dhillon and Janmeja Singh Sekhon, ex chief secretary Sarvesh Kaushal ex special chief secretary Karan B Singh Sidhu and ex secretary of the irrigation department Kahan Singh Pannu for questioning.

Notably Ex minister and Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) leader Dhillon and former IAS officer Pannu have to remain present for the enquiry on February 1.

While the bureau has also asked to bring property details in its headquarter.

Also former minister and SAD leader Sekhon and former IAS officer Kaushal have been summoned for February 2.

While former IAS officer Sidhu will have to appear before the vigilance bureau again on February 3.

It is worth mentioning that the multi-crore irrigation scam pertains to the SAD-BJP regime between 2012 and 2017.

All the accused are under the vigilance bureau scanner in this scam for allegedly corruption in crores and favouring contractor Gurinder Singh who was illegally allotted works of over Rs 1,200-crore during the SAD-BJP regime.
