He said the event was organised with the objective of encouraging youngsters to stay away from drugs and become more involved in sports and physical activities. Dhanda credited the Bhagwant Mann-led government’s efforts towards promoting a drug-free Punjab.
According to Dhanda, the participation of thousands of youngsters in the event reflects increasing awareness around healthy lifestyles and the importance of sports among Punjab’s youth.
He also took a political swipe at the Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal, claiming that the opposition parties were unsettled by the response to the government’s initiatives.
The “Youth Run Punjab 2026” event in Bathinda is being projected by the AAP leadership as part of its broader efforts to connect young people with sports while strengthening the campaign against drug abuse in the state.
