Jaipur News: ED raid can affect ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ worth around Rs 900 crore

Jaipur News

Jaipur News: According to official sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided multiple cities in Rajasthan as part of a money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in the execution of the central government’s “Jal Jeevan Mission” in the Congress-controlled state. ED has retrieved money and gold bricks during this time.

Engineers and employees of the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) believe that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) raids at various government facilities and the homes of PHED employees, contractors, and other stakeholders will have an effect on the Jal Jeevan Mission’s (JJM) project implementation.

According to an estimate by the engineers, the raids will have an impact on the JJM project, which is estimated to be worth between Rs 800 and Rs 900 crore.

“The topography of the state, the Covid pandemic and lastly the Russia-Ukraine war had an impact on JJM projects in Rajasthan and by all means we are sure to miss the December 2024 deadline. We had geared up our efforts in the last one year and JJM projects were going on in full swing. Now, with these raids by ACB and then by the ED, JJM projects in Rajasthan would get delayed further,” said a senior engineer.
