Ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced that the state aims to engage more than 1.25 crore people in yoga practice across districts and divisions. Over 1.25 Crore People in Rajasthan to Join International Yoga Day 2025 Celebrations

In a meeting held at the Chief Minister's residence on June 15 to review preparations for the upcoming Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwada (June 24 to July 9), CM Sharma emphasized linking this year’s Yoga Day celebrations with the state’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

Under the theme of "Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi" (Development with Heritage), CM Sharma instructed that this year’s Yoga Day celebrations should be held not just in community centers or parks, but also at Rajasthan’s iconic heritage and tourist landmarks, such as Amber Fort in Jaipur, Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, and Pushkar Ghats. The goal is to blend wellness with tradition, turning yoga sessions into cultural showcases for both locals and tourists.

The initiative is aimed not just at promoting health

As per the directive, yoga sessions will be organized at key tourist destinations and heritage sites across Rajasthan’s divisions and districts. The initiative is aimed not just at promoting health and wellness but also showcasing Rajasthan’s cultural grandeur on the global platform during the international observance.

Officials were instructed to ensure that all departments coordinate efforts to make Yoga Day a mass movement while maintaining discipline and traditional spirit. Schools, colleges, panchayats, and civil society groups will also be roped in to meet the target.

The Chief Minister also stated that this year’s celebrations will reinforce India's soft power by demonstrating Rajasthan’s commitment to holistic living and sustainable well-being.
