Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: Congress President Accuses Central Agencies of Being “Jawans” of Modi

Mallikarjun Kharge has made it clear that Congress's stance over Centre Ordinance in Delhi will be discussed before Monsoon Session.

Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: During a rally in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, ahead of the November 25 assembly polls, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Income Tax Department, referring to them as “jawans” (soldiers) of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge alleged that the central agencies are deployed by the Prime Minister to target the opposition just before he begins his election campaign.

Election-Time Allegations:
Kharge went on to state that Prime Minister Modi’s focus on the welfare of the poor is primarily due to the upcoming elections. This remark followed the Prime Minister’s recent announcement of the extension of the free ration scheme for five years.

Accusations of Favoritism:
Kharge accused the Modi government of causing hardships to the poor while extending support to industrialist allies such as Adani. He criticized the Prime Minister for the apparent wealth gap, saying that typically, leaders like kings, chief ministers, or prime ministers should assist the poor, but Modi’s policies seem to favor the wealthy, despite receiving votes from the poor.

Wealth Disparity:
Kharge emphasized that during Modi’s tenure, the rich have been getting richer while the poor have been growing poorer. He suggested that the Prime Minister’s sudden interest in the welfare of the poor is driven by the upcoming elections.

Central Agencies’ Actions:
Regarding recent actions taken by central probe agencies against Congress leaders in states going to the polls, Kharge insinuated that Prime Minister Modi deploys the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department, and CBI for campaigning just before he embarks on his election campaign and delivers speeches.
