Rajasthan Devnarayan Scooty Distribution and Incentive Scheme: The Devnarayan Student Scooty Distribution and Incentive Scheme, launched in 2018 by the Government of Rajasthan, aims to promote higher education among female students by offering significant benefits to those who excel academically. Administered by the Department of Higher Education, this scheme supports both selected and non-selected students at graduation and post-graduation levels.
Benefits for Selected Students
Under this scheme, selected female students receive a scooty, along with one year of general insurance, two liters of petrol (one-time only), and transportation expenses for the scooty’s delivery. The initiative primarily targets meritorious female students who achieve 75% or more in their academic studies, offering an incentive to continue their education.
Monetary Benefits for Non-Selected Students
Students who are not selected for the scooty but meet the criteria can still benefit financially. Graduating students receive ₹10,000 per year, while postgraduate students are awarded ₹20,000 per year upon securing 50% or more marks. This incentive aims to reduce financial burdens and encourage continued education.
Special Incentives for Female Students
The scheme is inclusive of all women—married, unmarried, widowed, or abandoned by their husbands—ensuring that they are not excluded from education due to personal circumstances. A total of 1,000 female students are selected annually to receive benefits under this initiative. Additionally, financial assistance is provided to further empower women and support their educational journey.
Application Process
Interested students can apply online through the Rajasthan SSO Portal to participate in the scheme. The Rajasthan government’s Free Scooty Scheme for 2024 aims to encourage female students to excel academically and pursue higher education without financial constraints.
