Rajasthan News: Extended Winter Break for Schools in Jaipur and Sikar Due to Intense Cold

Haryana Schools Closed

As a response to the severe cold wave sweeping through Jaipur and Sikar districts of Rajasthan, officials have decided to extend the winter break for students in Classes 1 to 8. In Jaipur, where temperatures have dropped below 5 degrees Celsius, the winter vacation has been prolonged until January 13. Schools in Jaipur will resume on January 16, taking into account that January 14 is a Sunday and January 15 is a holiday for Makar Sankranti. On the other hand, schools in Sikar are scheduled to reopen on January 15.

Classes 1 to 8 to Remain Closed Until January 13

Jaipur District Collector Prakash Chandra Rajpurohit issued an order last Thursday, extending the winter break by an additional eight days due to the expected continuous fluctuation in weather conditions. Despite the extended break, previously scheduled exams during this period will proceed as planned. Schools not complying with these directives will face severe consequences.

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) had earlier announced the official winter holiday schedule for 2023, with winter vacations for all schools commencing from December 25, 2023.
