Rajasthan News: In the lead-up to the Rajasthan assembly elections, an extensive Panchayat by-election is currently underway. The State Election Commission is overseeing the election of 8 committee members, 28 Sarpanch, and 285 ward Panch. Notably, the Sarpanch for two villages have been elected uncontested under the name Javed, whereas the position of sarpanch for four villages have faced a boycott.
Ahead of the Rajasthan assembly elections, by-elections for vacant village positions are slated for Sunday. Managed by the State Election Commission, the by-election process is actively underway for vacant positions within the state.

Unusual campaigning in Jhalawar
A rather unusual scenario has emerged in the by-election for the Sarpanch position in Jhalawar. A sum of 8 candidates have submitted their nominations. What makes this contest particularly distinctive is that it involves 3 people from the same family, with all three being women. Remarkably, these candidates are interconnected as daughter, mother, and grandmother. Given this intriguing situation, the competition has stirred considerable conversation and interest among the public.
Panchayat Election in numbers
These elections encompass various locations, such as Kekdi, Thanagji, Adel, Baneda, Sardarshahar, Sampayu, Surmathura, Bichiwada, two locations in Tunga, Kotkhawda, Sankara, two locations in Deeg, Alsisar, Mandore, Bhopalganj, Nadauti, Nagaur, Marwar Junction, Railmagra, and Bamanwas. Furthermore, the elections for Panchayat Samiti members and Sarpanchs are also scheduled for places including Ajitgarh and Bargaon.

A cumulative count of 115 nomination papers has been submitted for the Sarpanch position across 24 Gram Panchayats, slated for today's elections. Out of these submissions, 108 candidates have had their nominations verified and deemed accurate. Notably, the role of Sarpanch has been uncontestedly secured in 2 Gram Panchayats. Meanwhile, an active competition features 50 candidates. Furthermore, a notable protest emerges as elections have been boycotted by the local crowd in 4 Gram Panchayats.
