Rajasthan News: In a recent development, the Bhajanalal-led government in Rajasthan has stirred controversy over its handling of employee appointments. The initial appointment orders for 25 Assistant Agriculture Research Officers in the Agriculture Department indicated the application of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) for the newly recruited employees. Notably, the option for the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was not provided.
Government's Initial Decision Sparks Criticism
The move to impose NPS without offering the alternative of OPS raised eyebrows, especially considering that the Congress-led government in Rajasthan had previously implemented OPS during its tenure. Speculations arose during the election season, suggesting that the BJP's victory might lead to the discontinuation of OPS.
Revised Order Creates Confusion
However, the controversy took a turn when a revised order was issued by the government. Surprisingly, the updated order did not mention either NPS or OPS. This raised questions about the government's decision-making process and the absence of clarity regarding the pension scheme for the newly appointed employees.
The incident highlights the sensitivity surrounding pension schemes in government service and the need for transparent communication to avoid confusion and speculation. As the situation unfolds, there is a growing demand for the government to provide a clear and comprehensive explanation of its stance on pension options for the recruited employees.
