Rajendra Rathore called the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra as “Congress Jodo Yatra”

Rajasthan Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore slams at Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, saying that it has become a “Congress Jodo Yatra”.

“Wherever Rahul Gandhi travels, farms are being cleared to make tents. Renovation work is being done where he is travelling. I want to ask the chief minister from which budget is the expenditure for Rahul Gandhi’s yatra being spent,” said Rathore.

“In his home district Jodhpur, roads are in a pathetic situation. However, in just one day and one night, 75 kilometres of roads were improved. One farmer said that he doesn’t have electricity and god knows what magic happened that electricity connections were made within a few hours,” Rathore added.

“Rahul Gandhi had promised that the Congress government will not increase electricity tariffs, but it has been increased nine times. He should answer all these questions,” said the BJP leader.

Meanwhile during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of the Congress in Rajasthan, the hoardings, posters and banners seen on the roadside give an idea of the tussle between the Gehlot and Pilot groups. These poster-banners seem to indicate the infighting within the party on the way to the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

According to a report, a quiet poster war was witnessed on both sides of the road when Rahul Gandhi entered Rajasthan from Madhya Pradesh via Jhalawar on Sunday (December 4) evening with the Bharat Jodo Yatra. According to the report, thousands of poster-banners have been put up.

Signs of discord showing such hoardings, posters and banners

It has been said in the report that from other hoardings, one gets an idea of the discord within the party, which the Congress is trying hard to pacify. The hoarding of former NSUI state president Meenakshi Chandrawat has photographs of Rahul Gandhi and CM Ashok Gehlot but no mention of Sachin Pilot.

In a hoarding of Congress leader Ramsingh Meena of Aklera, the biggest photo is of Rahul Gandhi, followed by Ashok Gehlot, then ministers Ramesh Meena, Parsadi Lal and Murari Lal Meena are seen in other pictures. Murari Lal is said to belong to the Pilot camp but there is an indication of caste loyalty here as he comes from Ramsingh Meena’s fraternity.

Sachin Pilot’s face is visible next to Rahul Gandhi in Suratram Gurjar’s hoarding. Pilot is also seen with Rahul in the hoardings put up by Shailendra Yadav and Councilor Mangal Gurjar. Rahul Gandhi and Sachin Pilot are seen on either end of the hoardings of Suresh Gurjar, who contested from Khanpur seat in Jhalawar on Congress ticket in 2018 and lost to BJP. Gehlot’s photo has been shown bigger than the pilot’s in an arched hoarding installed by Suresh himself and spread across the width of the road.

Gehlot or Pilot, who has the most hoardings?

The hoarding of Congress leader Divya Singh Gurjar has photographs of Rahul and Pilot, apart from Rehana Riaz, chairperson of the Women’s Commission. According to the report, it is difficult to tell who has more pictures of Gehlot and Pilot in the hoardings. However, it has also been said that the edge in this case is in favor of the pilot.

According to the report, since the Gehlot camp is firmly entrenched in power, it may not be too concerned about the competition to be seen in hoardings, but more hoardings from Pilot supporters seem to indicate unease among loyalists.
