Udaipur News-Number Of EV Stations In Kashmir Of Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, a total of 591 charging stations would be set up across 262 locations and Udaipur (also known as the Kashmir of Rajasthan and the Venice of the East) would get 39 EV charging stations.

The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RREC) had earlier submitted its proposal to the Indian government for establishing electronic vehicle charging stations under the Prime Minister e-Drive Scheme in the state of Rajasthan.

The charging stations as per the approved plan would be installed in 49 locations in Ajmer, 112 locations in Jaipur, 28 locations in Kota and 39 locations in Udaipur. Moreover, EV charging stations would be established on 34 locations for passengers undertaking highway journeys in the state.

What Challenges Will It Solve?

State Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar announced that these EV charging stations would help in reducing inconvenience to EV drivers on the state and national highways. The Minister also remarked that passengers as of now often face the challenges of battery drain while remaining on the move. This is one of the biggest factors why potential automobile owners hesitate to use or buy EVs for long distances.

The newly established EV charging stations would help in eliminating this and many other challenges for passengers while also eliminating space sourcing issues. The Minister also added that these EV stations would help in promoting green energy in the state of Rajasthan while also curbing down pollution. This would also encourage residents of the state to make a smooth and seamless transition from diesel and petrol-fuelled vehicles to electric vehicles.
