In a counter-infiltration carried out by security forces near Line of Control (LoC), 5 foreign terrorists were killed in J&K’s Kupwara. The incident is being cited as first major infiltration attempt by terrorist forces from Kupwara this year. The encounter was a joint initiative carried out by Army and Kupwara police. The joint operation was launched in Thursday night based on input about presence of terrorists in the Jumagund area near the LoC. The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar has said that operation is still underway. On June 13, 2 terrorists were killed in another joint operation in Dobanar Machhal area of Kupwara district.
