‘Shameful for entire India’: Urfi Javed condemns horrific video of violence against women in Manipur

Uorfi reacts to Manipur violence against women 

Urfi took to her Instagram stories to condemn a horrific account that took place in Manipur amid the ongoing violence in the north-eastern state. A video that has surfaced on the internet shows two women forced to parade naked, while also being sexually assaulted in Manipur during the clash.  Reacting to the video, Urfi wrote, What happened in Manipur was shameful not just for Manipur but entire India”. She also shared a post on her stories about no action being taken in Manipur in two months ever since the violence broke out. “60 days no arrest,” she observed. 

PM Modi reacts to Manipur violence 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted to the shocking video that surfaced on the internet. “My heart is wrenched due to the incident in Manipur. The entire nation feels ashamed; such incidents of violence are disgraceful for the whole country and every citizen,” the Prime Minister said. He further added, “I assure the nation, no guilty will be spared. Law will take its course with all its might. What happened with the daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven. No one should be spared, and the law must take appropriate action. They will never be forgiven”.

Accused arrested 

As per latest media reports, the main accused in the case has been arrested. The man seen in green shirt in the video has been touted as the mastermind of the entire episode. Kukdiep Singh, the Security Advisor to the Manipur Chief Minister in conversation with CNN News 18. “He is seen in the video wearing a green check shirt. We have taken him into custody and are interrogating him,” he added.

Meanwhile, many Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Kiara Advani, and Sonu Sood among others have reacted to the shameful incident, demanding stringent actions against the predators.
