Swiggy: After the controversial billboard advertisement, Swiggy has once again come under attack for firing a delivery executive who refused to deliver mutton inside the walls of a Hindu temple. A food delivery agent has claimed that he lost his jobs after he refused to deliver the food near Delhi’s Marghat Baba Hanuman Mandir premises.

Swiggy delivery executive refuses to deliver mutton inside Hanuman Temple
The customer had ordered mutton Korma and naan. His delivery address was near Ram Kachori shop near Jamuna bazar Hanuman Mandir. The Swiggy delivery executive refuted to deliver the order due to its location as the area was where offerings or sweets and kachori to God Hanuman were prepared each day. When the delivery agent refused to deliver the order, the customer got furious, leading to a heated debate between the two.
The customer further told the delivery executive that he orders food from Swiggy everyday and never has he ever come across such a situation. However, the delivery agent told him that he won't be able to deliver the non-veg food near the temple premises. When the customer said he is not inside the temple and his shop is located 150 steps away from the temple, the delivery agent argued by saying it's just two steps away.
Some reports have also claimed that the delivery agent had also argued with customer care representative as well while refusing to violate the sanctity of the temple. While many on social media are slamming the food delivery giant for firing the employee, Swiggy has refuted the claims stating he is still a part of the team. The delivery agent’s ID remains active, the company said. Delivery personnel can either refuse or take the order. It is high likely that the said delivery executive is currently on a break in the light of recent circumstances.
