Tejashwi Yadav maintains innocence amidst CBI land-for-job scandal investigation, says ‘Doesn’t Matter What Other Says’

Tejashwi Yadav: Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, claimed that he answered all of the questions posed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after being grilled for hours by the investigation agency about the land-for-job scandal. “I answered any queries that were put to me. Regardless of what some may claim, there hasn’t been a scam, and everyone is aware of the reasons” Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, remarked.

CBI filed a corruption case against him

The RJD leader also said that even previously, he and his family had assisted the CBI in interviewing him. About the land-for-job fraud, Lalu was the Union Railway Minister at the time (May 2004 to May 2009). The CBI filed a corruption case against him, Rabri, and their daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav last year, alleging that they had accepted land plots in exchange for 12 people receiving Group D railway jobs in the railway zones of Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Hajipur while Lalu was the railway minister. The CBI asserts that no advertisements for the positions existed.

Rabri and one of her daughters received a transfer of the company’s rights

The agency claimed that those who were hired by the railways or their relatives had transferred land parcels into the names of Lalu’s family members and a business called AK Infosystems Private Limited. In 2014, Rabri and one of her daughters received a complete transfer of the company’s rights and assets. In addition to the land-for-job case, the CBI is also looking into possible wrongdoing in the IRCTC fraud involving the awarding of operational contracts for two IRCTC hotels to a private company while Lalu was the railway minister. The CBI has charged Lalu with favouring a private company in exchange for desirable Patna real estate. In 2018, Lalu, Rabri, and their son Tejashwi were charged by the CBI.
