UP Weather Update: Moderate Rain Offers Respite from Humidity in State, IMD Forecasts More Showers in Lucknow, Varanasi

UP Weather Update: Across various districts in the state of Uttar Pradesh, including the capital city of Lucknow, rains since Friday morning have brought a welcome respite from the oppressive humidity. Around 8 am, substantial rainfall drenched numerous parts of Lucknow, while concurrently, certain areas experienced instances of waterlogging as a result of the downpour. Additionally, the temperature has decreased by as much as two degrees, contributing to a noticeable relief from the heat.

What is the new Weather Update for UP?

On the preceding Thursday, a cluster of clouds formed over the capital city, accompanied by sporadic instances of light rain across various areas throughout the day and evening. The climate retained its agreeable nature amid the rainfall, although subsequent to the showers, the temperature escalated. The Meteorological Department had previously anticipated the likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several regions of the state and the neighboring districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

As per statements from senior meteorological experts at the Meteorological Center, a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal is influencing the monsoon trough line that extends from the Bay of Bengal into eastern Uttar Pradesh. This atmospheric condition has led to the proliferation of low-pressure zones in the air across Madhya Pradesh and its neighboring areas since Friday. Starting from Friday itself, a likelihood of substantial rainfall was anticipated for the southern districts of Uttar Pradesh and regions linked with Bundelkhand.

More rainfall after 21st

A cautionary advisory has been released for heavy rainfall in select districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. In the upcoming days, there is a potential for light to moderate rainfall in Lucknow and adjacent districts, commencing from Saturday. Additionally, it is projected that after August 21, there could be light to moderate rain across nearly all parts of the state.

Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Jhansi, Prayagraj, and Lakhimpur Kheri were among the districts where light to moderate rainfall was experienced. The Meteorological Department has forecasted the possibility of isolated showers on Friday, accompanied by the movement of clouds in districts surrounding Lucknow.
