107 hectares of forest cover hit by wildfires in Uttarakhand: Report

The challenge of forest fire in Uttarakhand has become more visible this time. Since February 15, 107.25 hectares of forest has been burnt in the state. There is less chance of rain ahead. In such a situation, the forest workers associated with field duty will not get leave this time.

Special instructions have been received regarding the monitoring of fire-sensitive forests in the hilly areas. While there is a possibility of infiltration of smugglers apart from chaotic elements in the plains.

67 incidents of fire came to light

Till Monday, 67 incidents of fire have been reported in Uttarakhand. In which 40.68 hectare forest of Garhwal and 35.55 hectare forest of Kumaon has been burnt. Apart from this, 21 hectares of forest has been damaged in the Wildlife Vihar ie National Park and Sanctuary.

The increasing temperature can create more problems for the forest department. In such a situation, the patrolling parties have been asked to remain alert during Holi. Conservator of Forests of Western Circle, Deep Chandra Arya told that leave will be given to forest workers only in unavoidable situation.

Forests of Nainital, Bageshwar and Almora blazed, smoke spread

The burning of forests continues in the hilly areas of Kumaon. Due to this, haze has also started spreading in the atmosphere. The forests of Chandika Dhar and Chhatina adjacent to Bageshwar district headquarters are burning since Sunday night.

People living nearby are worried about the forest fire reaching their homes. People are waking up. Ranger SS Karayat told that the fire near the district headquarters has been extinguished. Chhatina forest fire will also be brought under control.

Fire continues in the blocks of Hawalbagh, Lamgada, Dhauladevi and even in Almora district. The forest near village Rolakot Simalti kept burning throughout the night on Monday. The fire had reached the nearby village Gangapani. The Forest Department and the villagers could barely control the fire.
