65-70 per cent people in Joshimath living normal life: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

The Char Dham Yatra will start in four months, according to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who stated on Wednesday that 65-70 percent of people in Joshimath, where cracks appeared in buildings and other structures, are living normally.

After briefing Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation in Joshimath, Dhami claimed he received an assurance from the federal government that it would offer all assistance in resolving the crisis that had developed in the hill station.

“65-70 per cent people in Joshimath are living a normal life. In nearby Auli, which is a tourist attraction, everything is going on normally. Tourists are still visiting Auli,” Dhami told reporters here.

He said that the Char Dham Yatra, a well-known Hindu pilgrimage that travels to four of the religion’s holiest locations, including Kedarnath and Badrinath via Joshimath, will begin in the following four months.

People sitting in other parts of the country shouldn’t comment on the Joshimath issue, according to Dhami, who also stated that there is no reason for panic.

He claimed to have informed the home minister of the actions done to assist and rehabilitate the Joshimath victims.

When asked if he was seeking a rehabilitation programme for the residents of Joshimath, he responded that such measures would be introduced until the central team, which is currently in Joshimath, had submitted its final report.
