8 Cases of H3N2 influenza virus is reported from Dehradun

Influenza H3N2 Virus has given its knock in dehradun. Influenza H3N2 Virus infection has been found in man at Dun Hospital, which has been confirmed by Corona’s nodal officer Anurag Agarwal.

The patient is admitted under the supervision of TB and Chest Specialist Dr. Anurag Agarwal. Its report has come positive two days back. According to Principal (Dean) Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, the condition of the patient is normal. They say that it is seasonal influenza. And there is nothing to worry about.

According to data from the health department, 8 cases of H3N2 influenza virus is reported from Dehradun while the cumulative count of the state remains at 10.

However on shortage of staff Dr Sanjay Jain, chief medical officer, said, “There have definitely been issues due to staff shortage, but this has not impacted the treatment of patients. We have sufficient infrastructure to handle the situation. There is no need for panic, we are prepared.”

Sources at the health department said that with H3N2 infections, low testing rates are an issue. In Dehradun, 2,000 samples have been tested so far, of which some reports are still pending.
